The Linn-Mar Community School District Board of Directors is currently accepting applications to fill the open seat that resulted from the September 9th resignation of Former Director Rachel Wall. It is the intention of the Linn-Mar Board of Directors to fill the vacancy by appointment. The duration of the appointment will be from Monday, October 7, 2024, through the school board election in November of 2025. For additional information and the application please visit the "Board Members" tab.

The Linn-Mar Community School District Board of Directors consists of seven community members elected at-large and serving overlapping terms of four-years. Members serve without pay.

The LMCSD Board of Directors is a policymaking and planning entity that governs the overall operations of the district and does not get involved with the day-to-day operations of the school system.

The school board elects its own president and vice-president, appoints a secretary and treasurer, and hires the superintendent.

The Board of Directors takes action on matters only in formal sessions with a quorum of members present. The board president serves as the spokesperson for the school board's position on all items related to the district.
